Jiko Art is the first online platform dedicated to selling original art through descending and charitable auctions. Every artwork is listed by its creator at a price that decreases over four days, and every sale automatically redistributes a fixed share to a nonprofit organization chosen by the artist.
Our model rests on a three-voice equation: the artist, the buyer, the cause. No bidding wars, no speculation, no opaque tiers. The price of an artwork starts at a level set by the artist, then decreases automatically along a transparent schedule — 96 hours, regular reductions — until a buyer validates the current price.
Every sale is split according to a simple, public rule applied automatically: 70% for the artist, 16% for the chosen nonprofit organization, 14% for the platform's operations. No hidden commission, no exception.
Rather than chasing the highest bid, we aim for the fairest encounter: where the artist finds an audience, the buyer finds an artwork they love at a price they accept, and an organization finds concrete support. This equation defines Jiko Art.
A quiet gallery, an assumed identity, a deliberate model: Jiko Art is built to last. Welcome to another way of collecting.
Our Mission
To reconcile selling art with social usefulness.
We believe there is, in France and beyond, an audience ready to buy an original artwork for what it represents — artistically and humanly. Our role is to enable that encounter by removing the friction that discourages it.
Through the descending model and the automatic 16% redistribution to a verified organization, every transaction on the platform helps to:
- Economically support independent artists by guaranteeing them 70% of the sale price, without additional intermediaries
- Provide sustainable funding to nonprofit organizations in humanitarian, social, environmental, cultural, educational, and public health fields
- Democratize access to original art by breaking the inflationary codes of traditional auctions
- Reinvent a modern form of patronage — accessible, measurable, and grounded in transparency
Our Commitments
Our promises shape the platform's infrastructure.
Full financial transparency
The 70% artist / 16% nonprofit / 14% Jiko Art split is public, immutable, and applied automatically by our Stripe Connect payment intermediary. No hidden margins, no surprise fees, no case-by-case negotiation.
Secure payment
All payments go through Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment provider. Your banking data never touches our servers and is never visible to Jiko Art.
Verified nonprofit organizations
Every association, foundation, or NGO is individually reviewed before being listed: legal status, mission, financial transparency. Our admission charter deliberately excludes politically partisan structures, organizations whose primary purpose is religious worship or proselytism, and groups identified as sectarian.
Privacy by design
No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no intrusive consent banners. We measure site usage exclusively with cookieless tools, and we honor by default the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser.
Authenticity certificates
Every artwork sold comes with a free digital certificate documenting its provenance and technical characteristics — a guarantee of authenticity for the buyer and a faithful record for the artist.
Our Story
Jiko Art was born from an observation shared by many in the art world: independent artists struggle to sell directly, sincere buyers lack a framework to support a cause through their purchases, and nonprofit organizations still rely heavily on fragile, one-off donation models.
Jiko Art was built with a simple ambition: to create a restrained and ethical platform where these three worlds meet. Far from saturated marketplaces and speculative auctions.
The platform was developed hand in hand with artists, prioritizing product quality over growth: a refined interface, an assumed visual identity, infrastructure opened to five languages (French, English, Japanese, Russian, Chinese), full absence of advertising tracking, and compliance with GDPR and the Digital Services Act from day one.
We continue to build Jiko Art at the pace of its convictions, with one requirement: every feature added must serve the artist, the buyer, or the cause — never the platform alone.
Our Team
Jiko Art is carried forward by a multidisciplinary team committed to a shared project: putting technology, design, and writing at the service of original art and ethical patronage.
Our approach is deliberately artisanal. Rather than chasing growth, we build Jiko Art at the pace of its convictions, which allows us to stay faithful to the project's founding values and to keep a direct relationship with each of our users, artists, buyers, and partner organizations.
Our expertise combines several disciplines:
- Product design and development
- Art direction and visual identity
- Editorial writing and legal compliance
- Relations with artists and partner organizations
Jiko Art remains open to collaborations — artistic contributions, nonprofit partnerships, feedback from artists or collectors. If you want to contribute to our work, write to us at contact@jikoart.org.
